Farewell Miss Butcher

For the past four weeks we have had a student teacher in Room Four - Miss Butcher.  Today was her last day in our class.  We wish her all the best for the rest of her studies, and for the future!

The Made Award Finals! WE WON!

Last night we went to the Made Awards at Bay Court.  We were nominated for best music video Year 4-6.  When we got there, there were ipads and ipod touches there. Meadow and me saw Patrick and Iman from Room Four.
After that Patrick brought Meadow, Iman and me a drink.

Then Meadow and me saw the one, the only, Kimberly Crossman (she is from Shortland Street).  Meadow got a autograph and a photo. Meadow keep on saying for me to go get a autograph, but I didn't.

After that we went into the auditorium. There was heaps of people we couldn't find a seat but then Mrs Scott had a seat for us four (Patrick, Meadow,Iman and me).

Finally it started! We just sat back, drunk our can of drink and ate food. We sat and waited for ages until our category stared.  "Yes!!!!!!" we all said. After she had told us 3rd and 2nd she announced the winner. We were all nervous.  She announced that the winner was  "I'm an achiever - Room 4  - Te Puke Primary School". We all ran on stage.  We were all so proud. Then we had to watch all the other films, but hey, it was cool that we won. Our prize was an Ipad 2, a trophy and a certificate.  I dropped the trophy once, but shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!

BOOKvember

Apart from Mr B, we don't have the skills to grow a moustache quite yet (or we wouldn't want to) so instead of MOvember, Room Four is turning November into BOOKvember!

For the month of November, we are aiming to read for 15 minutes every night.  Parents will sign our calender, and those who bring their completed calender back at the end of the month will get a prize.

BOOKvember runs along side BOOK WEEK which is coming up in week 4 and 5!

Keep checking out the blog to find out some of the books we have been reading during BOOKvember, and our recommendations about them.

More ON THE JOB!

After seeing the picture above, the Room Four children wrote a short piece of writing relating to it.  Here are two examples of what they wrote!

I was in a police car.  We had to go and catch these three men who were doing drugs.  We caught one of them and put him in the car but he got out and was on the run.  He jumped over a fence and went into a house to try and call his mates.  We found him and caught him again so he went to jail.  He broke out of jail and is still on the run today…

'Faster faster' I said quietly.  'Oh no, the police are catching up.  Oh no, they have guns.' 'Come on hand me your gun' I said to Jessie.
'NO!' yelled Jessie, 'I am trying to drive stupid!'
'Yea, I know that but I am trying to shoot but the only problem is I don't have a gun,' I replied.
'I AM NOT GIVING YOU THE GUN!!' Jessie yelled back.
'Ok man, I get it, ok?  It's ok any way, I will hit them with this sack then.  YAY I got them and they have stopped.' I breathed a sigh of relief.
'...THAT WAS THE MONEY YOU STUPID EGG!!!' yelled Jessie!

Made Awards Finalists

We are very excited in Room Four as we recently found out that we are finalists in the Made Awards Year 4-6 Music Video category.

Jessie and Thomas H are attending as our student representatives and hopefully some others from the class will be able to come as well!

Patrick, Iman and Kyree from Room Four were also part of the Film Club in Term 3, and their entry made the finals of the Year 4-6 story telling category.  How cool is that!?

The Made Awards finals are on Thursday 10th November, and 'Sophie' from Shortland Street will be the MC.
